A complete, simple and effective vacuum bleed kit. Fits all motorcycle front, back or clutch callipers.
This kit was produced to overcome a problem I was having bleeding the Tokico 6 pot callipers I fitted to my Triumph Trophy. I was on my own and bleeding them with a small length of tube a 7mm spanner and a glass jar. I'd reach up and press the lever, loosen the nipple, tighten the nipple, let the brake lever out, repeat, stand up to check the fluid level and start again - over and over and over ...
Eventually it felt fine, quite solid. The next day I walked into the garage and squeezed the front brake - straight to the grip - bugger !
So onto the WWW and eventually I found this site http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-technical-articles which led me to realise that U$45 (around £25) is a bit much for a brake bleeding kit, but I loved the principle. A vacuum ....... sucking the fluid (and air) through.
That sounds better - so I came up with this;
Simple and easy to use
Single handed brake bleeding for both front and rear brakes.
No stretching to reach the brake lever and watch for bubbles.
No mess.
The kit comprises :
1 off 60mm syringe "vacuum pump"
2 foot of thick walled silicone tubing (air tight fit on the nipple) Adaptor (to fit the tube to the syringe)
Adaptor (to fit the smaller 3mm nipple fitted on some bikes)
The method is quite simple. The silicone tube fits on the syringe and on to the bleed nipple.
The nipple is loosened by 1/2 of a turn and the master cylinder/reservoir cap is removed
Standing up, you gently pull the syringe open and the brake fluid is sucked out. Keeping an eye on the fluid level in the reservoir and by looking at the tube, you will clearly see the bubbles and old fluid being drawn out.
No need to squeeze the lever (or press the pedal) just gently draw the fluid and air out in a smooth flow.
It's very easy - fits all brakes/clutches etc.
Could also be used on a car
When the bubbles stop and the fluid is nice and clean, tighten the nipple, top up the reservoir and refit the cap.
Can also be used to change and set the correct level of oil in your forks.
Suck the oil out of your lawn mower/BMW shaft drive/moped gear box, squirt water at the cat, etc. etc.
Note: Old fluid should be disposed of carefully.
An ideal addition to your toolkit.
